Glucose 40% solution for injection
Pharmacological properties:Pharmacodynamics: glucose enhances oxidation-regeneration processes in the body, improves the antitoxic function of the liver. From Viana, it is a source of easily digestible carbohydrates, replenishes the body's energy loss.
40% glucose solution is hypertonic. Intravenous administration of the solution causes an increase in blood pressure, enhances the transfer of fluid from the tissues to the blood, regulates metabolism, strengthens the contractile function of the heart muscle, expands blood vessels, improves the detoxification function of the liver and diuresis.
Indications:Hypoglycemia, infectious diseases, hepatitis, liver dystrophy and atrophy, toxicoinfections and other toxic conditions, treatment of shock and collapse. Glucose solution is also used to dilute compatible intravenous medications.
